[BREW-HAHA] Body Of A Goddess

brew-purpleSince Pagans are a fairly opinionated bunch, it's not surprising to find them dishing about politics.  Most of the Pagans and Wiccans I know are quite liberal -- very common as we are minority and, in current ...

[BREW] Pagans And Politics

October/25/2009

thank-you-pic1

It was strange watching the sun peek over the ridge and noting the time was 8:17 a.m.  The Goddess is weaving a longer and longer train with which to Veil the world until Yule.  Once the sun was up, however, the sky is that amazing color blue that makes you want to dance and sing for the beauty of all things.

Most of the rest of my day is going to be spent in the car.  Returning a purchase to a store, selling a few books, meeting with a couple about their wedding (which I’m officiating), and then the long trip to Atlanta and back to pick up my daughter.  These are just downbeats in my normal life rhythm — raising my daughter, helping others, getting along as best I can.

Witchvox is featuring my article Let Slip The Past, Free The Now this week.  I’m hoping that it will give people some insight into their own patterns of interaction and help them find the strength to let go and move on and embrace again with joy instead of judgment.

If you can today, try and get outside for a bit and feel the edge of the blade that is Samhaine.  Dance on the curved edge of the moon.  Crush the autumn leaves beneath your feet and smell the fragrance of death rising to meet you.  Sigh — one long exhale — and know that in the end, that’s what the End is:  you giving back the first breath you borrowed when you entered this world.  Only you return the breath with the accrued interest of all you have learned and become, enriching the Soul of the World with your journey.

You are one very quotable writer, beloved Sister…very quotable, indeed.

Happy, joyous, reverent, mirth-filled Samhaine to you and yours!

  • I sent Millie an email with a sunrise I photographed on the way to work. I’m going to forward it to you just because you mentioned it above, and you mentioned being in the car all day. Also I’m sending it to you because of a blog that you wrote some time ago about daily devotions and we talked about devotions in the car. Anyhoo, I hope you have a beautiful drive and a lovely week.

    • I loved them! Especially coming from Sparks, NV! The Hubbs and I lived there for 18yrs before moving here 2yrs ago. Ironically enough, we live on the desert side of Mt. Shasta so we also have a lot of the desert terrain here too. As far as magic goes….it’s infused into every atom in the universe. Why Honey-”The Goddess/God positively oozes magic!” We really, really have to blind ourselves not to see it. I wish I had a way to post these pictures to let everyone see. Because Mt. Shasta literally lives and breathes right in front of your eyes and you have to feel the energy, experience it! That’s where I grew up at…in her shadow and this is where I wish to stay. Sitara, you have put very eloquently what I was trying to explain about death. The end of one stage of our journey and the beginning of the next. The payment of passage through Hecates Gate is that Breath-plus intrest. For anyone who would like to see these pic’s, e-mail me lizardholler@yahoo.com and I’ll forward a copy. Peace and Blessings ;~)

      • I have been reading Sitara’s posts for a bit now and I am so happy to see someone else who lives near Mt. Shasta! I am currently in Weed, CA. Living so close to nature definitely brings a spiritual connection to every day living and Mt. Shasta is certainly a sacred mountain!

        • Girl! You’re so close up the road-I can ride my re-chargeable dustbuster up there! Forget the broom! Welcome! ;~) I sent you those pic’s and I hope we can get together for a cuppa…whatever! Peace and Blessings.

  • Beautiful reflections from a constant and beautiful sister! I’ve been dancing on the blade this week in preparation…thank you for daning with me! Have a beautiful Samhaine, dear one!

  • Brightest Blessings to all this Samhain! May the habits, pain, and “junk” let go be replaced with every good thing, joy and laughter! Peace and Blessings! :)
