I have been embroiled in a vicious battle with the flu. I have prevailed — and used up all my sick and annual leave at work — but now, my daughter has come down with it. Her flu test was positive this afternoon, but (good Mommy points for me!) I caught it within the first 24 hours of onset and it’s treatable. She shouldn’t get dragged through the mucus-y mess I went through this week. Thanks to an expensive prescription of TamiFlu, that is. $117.00 for 10 pills. What’s up with that?
Needless to say, I’ve been more concerned with keeping my lungs properly inserted in my chest cavity than in blogging, writing, or any other -ing involving a computer. I hope to get back into the swing over the next 3-4 days since my house is under official quarantine — doctor’s orders — until Monday evening. Fortunately, I think my daughter is looking forward to having a few days of movie-watching, puzzle-solving, book-reading, craft-making, soup-slurping, super-snuggling Mommy-Daughter time.
Come to think of it, I am, too. *smile*
Other things on my To-Do list include finishing the Mabon ritual script and prepping for our Mabon celebration next Sunday. I extended an open invitation to folks. I think the event has turned into a mini-gathering. It’s going to be awesome, though… superbly fun!
Thanks for your kind thoughts and continued stop-bys to see if I’ve written anything. I’ve been warmly snuggled by the love and anticipation from afar. Special thank-you to dear Heartsong who brought by home-made Curry-Lentil soup last night for me and the young’un to eat. We slurped down the warm and savory stew and ah! It was bliss!
So good, in fact, that my daughter said at the doctor’s office (when she found out she was out of school through Tuesday): “Yay! That means I get to go home and eat more of that soup!”
Guess I’m glad I asked for that recipe last night, eh?

I was reading the CNN website last night and found
