The view atop Blood Mountain as the sun, in a red haze, sets over rolling hills of green fading with distance into deep blue.
The smoke rising from my pipe & curling about the room in a mysterious dance of meandering, complex interweavings & impossible patterns.
The passion of a woman when she is vulnerable & open, and thus beautiful.
The love & eagerness for life I see in the eyes of my children everyday.
My mother as she broods over a cup of coffee with a distance look in her eyes.
The deep satisfaction of knowing that we are all in this together, and we will all come out alive.

A few things immediately come to mind….the sound of a baby or child’s laughter, the pure ring of joy and innocence just vibrates something deep in your heart and soul….the sound my puppy (she’s almost nine but she’s still my puppy LOL) make when she’s sleeping and dreaming, the cute whimpers and dream barks that just show a beautiful simplicity….and the smile my partner has for me after not seeing each other all day, it’s that feeling of truly coming home. Great topic Sitara!

I just so happen to have a ‘Things I Love List’ I started this year.One day I was driving home and thought of something I love from my childhood. Soon I had an empty envelope full, now 6 months later I have 70 and counting! Talk about keeping your happiness level up! I love to reread these and write them down when the mood strikes. I’ll take out three of my favorites…
1.My Baby, his babies and the love and life lessons they bring my everyday.
2.The gloaming sitting among my flowers. Or the early morning sitting with my flowers and my animals.
3.My Mother, her friendship and her humor; Hell her very essence brings me joy.
Okay one more,
4. My dog. She has stood by me through thick and thin. She will not leave my side when I’m hurt and she is so funny!

I wonder if there’s a link between tomatoes and nicotine. Something that would make you be in “overload” if you smoked and ate tomatoes at the same time. Of course, tomatoes are part of the nightshade family. Maybe since you decided not to take yourself out with cigarettes (Yay You!!!!), the tomatoes decided you could handle a little nightshade action!

Congrats on quitting smoking and prevailing — that is one of the hardest things anyone can do, and you did it! Wow — what a powerful Witch you are!

If you ever get the chance to head to the Great Smokey Mountains, try to come see the Firefly Mating at Elkmont National Park. Just Google “Firefly Mating Season” and “Elkmont” together and that should bring it up. Our Coven spends our Summer Solstice here every year watching the firefly magick. It’s gorgeous — tens of thousands of fireflies all blinking synchronously.

A strange story about tomatoes… I hated them most of my life. However, I recently quite smoking about 2 years ago and now I cannot seem to get enough. I put them on everything. I never noticed before that they ALL taste different, especially from different parts of the country. My favorite is the creole tomato from New Orleans. I must be needing that vitamin C for healing after quitting.

belly laughs from myself or anyone
the smell of a charcoal cookout, or just a fire burning good wood.

Funny you should mention….

I’m just getting over being sick for a week and a half and I find myself absolutely craving tomatoes. Fortunately, this is the time of year to get some really luscious ones at the farmer’s market.
